Educational Objectives

The educational objectives of the Architecture - Interior and Exhibit Design program are to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to design and develop innovative and functional interior and exhibit spaces. The program aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of interior and exhibit design, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and creative manner.

Course Descriptions

  • Learning from Rome - Design workshop: This course introduces students to the themes and specificities of the training course in close relation to the host city, Rome, as a teacher of architecture.
  • Design within the built environment: This course addresses the issues that contribute to the design of the project for the transformation, reuse, and/or modification of the large existing building stock.
  • Three-dimensional modeling: This course provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to create three-dimensional models of interior and exhibit spaces.
  • Urban interiors: This course aims to develop technical and compositional knowledge by putting into system different knowledge that contributes to the resolution of problems related to the design of interior and exterior spaces.
  • Structural engineering: This course provides students with the conceptual basis and analytical tools for the prediction and interpretation of the behavior of a load-bearing structure.
  • Architectural design for living space: This course explores and acquires the design methods related to Interior Architecture, understood as an enclosed space in which humans inhabit.
  • Digital modeling and representation methods: This course is aimed at the acquisition of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the control of the construction space of building systems through the critical exercise of model representation.
  • Architectural technology and innovative materials for interior architecture: This course provides knowledge related to the technologies and materials used in interior architecture, with particular reference to those of an innovative nature.
  • History of contemporary architecture - Interiors and exhibitions: This course aims to provide students with a solid understanding of the central themes of contemporary architectural culture, with a specific focus on the history and evolution of exhibition design, exhibition spaces, and interior architecture.
  • Architectural design for exhibits and events: This course develops specific design skills in the field of installations of various kinds and sizes, applying notions of specific techniques, museographic, constructive, and lighting techniques.
  • Design for built heritage: This course contributes to the construction of the theoretical knowledge necessary to consciously deal with the project for the built heritage and that particular awareness and critical capacity that the student must possess in order to responsibly implement the care, conservation, and necessary enhancement of artifacts and places with a view to cultural sustainability.
  • Project management and assessment: This course aims to describe the founding principles, areas of application, and essential tools of project management, as well as the knowledge and understanding of the fundamental issues of the economic evaluation of interventions.
  • Training: This course provides students with an integrative experience through apprenticeship, workshop, or participation in conferences, with the double aim of being in contact with the professional world and facilitating their inclusion in it.
  • Final test: This course consists of the writing, presentation, and discussion of a written dissertation, prepared graphically and autonomously by the student, documenting the study topic in an organic and original manner.
  • Elective course: This course allows students to choose from a range of elective courses offered by the university, providing them with the opportunity to explore topics of interest and deepen their knowledge in specific areas.
