Program Overview
Architecture (Conservation)
The specific objective of the master's degree course, which satisfies the qualifying training objectives of the LM-4 class, is to achieve a peculiar sensitivity and ability related to the methods of intervention on the existing architectural and environmental heritage and the design of quality new architecture, with special attention to the relationship with pre-existing buildings and the historic city. The proposed master's degree course provides, over the two years of study, an expansion of the competences, matured in the previous three-year degree course, in specialist terms:
- of the ability to analyze historical-critical and historical-technical architecture, understood in its broadest sense (from the single building to the landscape and the environment);
- of the ability to intervene in design and execution, related to both modern architectural production and the restoration and recovery of existing buildings;
- of specific scientific knowledge, acquired in a critical manner.
