Program Overview
Introduction to the Master’s Degree Program in Telecommunication Engineering
The Master’s Degree Program in Telecommunication Engineering was created in response to the ongoing challenges posed by our society, in which the ability to communicate has become a primary and constantly evolving need. We are witnessing a continuous increase in the demand for innovative technologies and methodologies for the acquisition, encoding, transmission, and processing of information, to be used in cutting-edge systems and in highly diverse scenarios.
Program Objectives
The Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering aims to educate graduates with advanced knowledge and the cultural adaptability necessary to take on positions of responsibility in the field of information and communication technologies. In particular, graduates in Telecommunication Engineering must be capable of integrating technologies and technical–economic–regulatory constraints to design, develop, and manage telecommunication systems, infrastructures, and services to be employed in fields such as:
- Personal and social communications
- Media
- Transport
- Security
- Health
- The environment
In these areas, they must also be able to interact with specialists from all sectors of engineering and from the economic–managerial domain, identifying, formulating, and solving complex problems through interdisciplinary approaches.
Curriculum and Training
To achieve these objectives, the program is based on a solid foundation that integrates physical–mathematical and engineering skills. The curriculum develops through the acquisition of knowledge and skills relating to advanced methodologies and enabling techniques for various telecommunication systems and services, such as those used in:
- Fixed and mobile communications
- Telecommunication networks
- Radar and terrestrial/space remote sensing
- Multimedia systems
- Technical–scientific instrumentation for numerous applications
Training is further enriched by the study of advanced knowledge and the development of specialist skills on state-of-the-art systems and applications.
Specializations and Focus Areas
Special attention is paid to the technological and implementation aspects that characterize the aforementioned systems. In this regard, the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to the modeling and design of circuits and devices for signal and information processing is essential, including:
- Adaptive techniques
- Computational intelligence
- Expertise in quality, security, and environmental impact across different applications
Language of Instruction
The Master’s Degree Program in Telecommunication Engineering is taught entirely in English, a choice that allows access to students from other countries, thereby promoting integration and the exchange of knowledge in an international context.
