Program Overview
Program Overview
The Fashion Theory and Practices program was established as a result of an ordinance modification of the previous Fashion Studies course, which was activated in 2016. It represents the ideal and potential completion of the three-year degree course in Fashion and Costume Sciences, with which it constitutes the didactic area in Fashion and Costume Sciences at the Department of History, Anthropology, Religions, Art, and Entertainment.
Program Structure
The Fashion Theory and Practices program is an inter-university course with Unitelma-Sapienza, and its educational activities are managed in a hybrid mode, both in-person and online. The first semester of the first year is delivered exclusively online. All courses and educational activities are conducted entirely in English and are aimed at an international audience.
Curriculum
The program's curriculum includes teachings from sociological, historical-artistic, anthropological, historical, economic-managerial, communication and marketing, design and design, psychological, computer science, aesthetic, and legal fields. The course structure is very flexible (except for a small group of mandatory exams equal to 30 CFU) and allows for the construction of highly specialized paths thanks to optional groups and elective exams.
Workshops and Projects
Workshops are provided, both of a methodological nature to introduce research on fashion and built on the basis of interaction with the industrial realities of the fashion sector in the territory of the city of Rome and Italy. Erasmus+ exchange projects have been activated with the main European universities where the fashion phenomenon is studied. Since its inception in 2016, almost every year, a visiting professor from international courses of prestige has been welcomed.
Internships and Career Opportunities
Students can undertake internships and training periods at the structures agreed upon through the Jobsoul platform. The program's flexibility and the variety of its curriculum make it an ideal choice for students seeking a comprehensive education in fashion theory and practices.
