Program Overview

Program Overview

The Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery is based on a biomedical, psychological, and social educational project, adopted since 1999 and continuously updated. The project aims to train a doctor-surgeon with the best competencies, knowledge, and skills, enabling them to effectively integrate into the complex world of healthcare.

Program Structure

The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in scientific and methodological knowledge, as well as the development of critical thinking and scientific mentality. The educational project focuses on the "complexity of care," aiming to develop professional competence and values such as freedom, responsibility, autonomy, intersubjectivity, and dialogue.

Teaching Methods

The teaching method adopted is a continuous process of educational experimentation, integrating knowledge, problem-oriented teaching, early contact with patients, and the acquisition of clinical and human skills. Excellence in research and teaching, translational research, and the connection between research, teaching, and clinical practice are considered fundamental.

Practical Training

The practical training lasts three months and is carried out after the fifth year of study, provided that all fundamental exams of the first four years have been passed. The training is designed to develop the student's professional competence and prepare them for the state exam.

State Exam

The state exam is regulated by the Ministerial Decree of May 9, 2018, n. 58, which establishes the rules for the state exam for the qualification of doctor-surgeon.
