Program Overview

The Nursing program at Sapienza Università di Roma aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become competent nurses. The program is designed to meet the requirements of the Classe 1 delle lauree nelle professioni sanitarie infermieristiche e professione sanitaria ostetrica.


Program Objectives

The program objectives are as follows:


  • Possess adequate knowledge in the basic sciences, clinical sciences, and nursing sciences to understand the fundamental elements of physiological and pathological processes.
  • Have the ability to approach problems with a unified vision, including the psychological and socio-cultural dimensions of health and disease.
  • Possess knowledge of the ethical, deontological, and legal dimensions of their profession.
  • Have relational skills to express themselves in the helping relationship with the patient and in integration with other professional figures.
  • Have acquired the methodology of nursing disciplines and be able to apply it in their areas of competence.
  • Be able to use at least one language of the European Union for the exchange of general information and in the specific area of competence.

Program Description

The program is designed to produce graduates who are operators of the health professions, responsible for general nursing care, and who work with professional autonomy in activities aimed at promoting individual and collective health, preventing risk factors, and caring for diseases and disabilities. The program is based on the requirements of the Legge 10 agosto 2000 n° 251, art.1 comma 1, and the D. M. 739 del 14 settembre 1994 and subsequent integrations and modifications.


Program Outcomes

Graduates of the Nursing program will be able to:


  • Work with autonomy in the provision of general nursing care.
  • Promote individual and collective health.
  • Prevent risk factors.
  • Care for diseases and disabilities.
  • Integrate with other professional figures in the healthcare system.
  • Use at least one language of the European Union for the exchange of general information and in the specific area of competence.
