The Imaging and Radiotherapy techniques program is designed to produce professionals who are responsible for their acts of competence and are authorized to perform radiological investigations and services.
Program Description
Graduates in "Tecniche di Radiologia medica, per Immagini e Radioterapia" are healthcare operators responsible for their acts of competence and are authorized to perform radiological investigations and services. They are able to perform, in an autonomous or collaborative manner with other healthcare professionals, on medical prescription, all interventions that require the use of sources of ionizing radiation, both artificial and natural, thermal energy, ultrasound, nuclear magnetic resonance, as well as interventions for physical or dosimetric protection. They participate in the planning and organization of work within the structure in which they operate, respecting their competences; they plan and manage the provision of polyvalent services of their competence in direct collaboration with the radiodiagnostic doctor, the nuclear medicine doctor, the radiotherapist doctor, and the health physicist, according to previously defined diagnostic and therapeutic protocols by the structure manager; they are responsible for their acts of competence, in particular by controlling the correct functioning of the equipment entrusted to them, providing for the elimination of minor inconveniences and implementing quality assurance programs according to predefined indicators and standards; they carry out their activity in public or private healthcare structures, in a relationship of dependence or freelance.
