Program Overview

The Master's Degree in Human Resource, Work, and Organizational Psychology aims to develop the psychological competencies necessary for the enhancement and development of individuals' and groups' potential in work contexts and the promotion of well-being in individuals, groups, and organizations. The development of these competencies goes hand-in-hand with the acquisition of theoretical and methodological knowledge specific to the field, as well as the acquisition of transversal knowledge related to organizational functioning and the most recent knowledge reflecting advancements in psychological research, cultural changes, and technological transformations of work environments and processes.

Program Objectives

The program aims to develop the following competencies:

  • Mastery of the main models and methodologies for organizational analysis and work, designing consulting interventions tailored to the specific context's needs
  • Mastery of reference theories and methods for detecting work-related stress, preventing it, and promoting well-being in workplaces
  • Mastery of theories, methodologies, and techniques for evaluating individuals, designing performance management programs, and developing potential
  • Mastery of models and methodologies for facilitating learning and developing competencies at the individual, group, and organizational levels

Program Structure

The program includes various courses and laboratory activities that utilize experiential training methods (cases, simulations, group or individual exercises) to facilitate reflection on experience and the acquisition of competencies. In addition to psychological subjects, the program includes teachings from other disciplines (labor law, business organization) to facilitate understanding of issues from different perspectives.

Career Opportunities

The Master's Degree in Human Resource, Work, and Organizational Psychology aims to train psychologists who are experts in designing, implementing, and verifying programs for evaluating, training, and developing individuals in organizations, as well as organizational interventions for resolving work-related problems, taking into account the characteristics of individual workers, groups, and organizations. Graduates will be able to work as psychologists within human resource functions in companies, public administration, or consulting firms and public entities that deal with these issues, after completing the enabling internship for the exercise of the profession.

Distinctive Features

The program has two main distinctive features:

  • A strong professionalizing orientation, centered on the acquisition of competencies that can be spent in the labor market, highlighted by the presence of numerous integrated laboratories in the various courses and the curricular internship
  • Integration between the focus on consolidated models, methodologies, and tools of applied psychology in work contexts and attention to changes and technological transformations of environments, processes, and work tools, which impact the topics treated in a transversal manner across different disciplines.

Course Content

The teachings provide competencies related to:

  • Techniques for analyzing organizational data, necessary for implementing organizational surveys and evaluation processes, selecting measurement tools, and verifying the effectiveness of proposed interventions
  • Main theories of personality and their evaluation
  • Various techniques for conducting interviews and group interviews, designing programs, methodologies, and tools for recruiting and selecting personnel, talent management, assessment, and potential development, individual and organizational learning, stress prevention, and well-being promotion in work contexts, group management, and leadership
  • The aforementioned competencies will be offered in courses that concern selection and assessment processes, personality evaluation, psychology of training, organizational intervention and development, evaluation and talent management, work stress and engagement, interpersonal dynamics and leadership, and multivariate analysis.

Assessment

The evaluation of learning takes place through oral and written exams (open or closed response), consistently with the nature of the course and its general objectives.
