Program Overview

Program Overview

The program in Political Science and International Relations aims to provide students with a multidisciplinary educational offer, encompassing the transmission of knowledge in the legal, economic-political, linguistic, politological, sociological, and historical-political fields. This educational offer will result in the acquisition of fundamental competencies and methodological tools essential for developing a critical consciousness capable of understanding complexity and interacting with it, also through the knowledge of foreign languages.

Objectives

The program's objectives are to provide students with a solid foundation in the disciplines characterizing the study path, including legal, historical, sociological, and economic-statistical disciplines. The program also aims to integrate theoretical competencies with in-depth studies on current topics, relevant to the significant changes underway in contemporary global contexts.

Program Structure

The program is structured as follows:

  • In the first year, students acquire basic competencies in the disciplinary sectors characterizing the study path.
  • In the second year, the multidisciplinary nature of the educational path is expanded through the inclusion of additional characterizing teachings, with particular reference to politological disciplines. Specific attention is dedicated to the introduction of the first foreign language.
  • In the third year, the program aims to broaden specific competencies in the international sector and strengthen sectoral competencies through the inclusion of activities that students can choose from different areas, allowing them to characterize and qualify their educational path autonomously.

Competencies and Skills

The program aims to favor the elaboration of reports, projects, and thematic in-depth studies, through which students can finalize their individual competencies in line with the requests of the job market. The obligatory curricular internship provides an opportunity for students to test and integrate the acquired capabilities, which is carried out at public and private institutions, both territorial and international.

Career Opportunities

At the end of the educational path, students will be able to pursue specialized studies in the field of master's courses or realize their professional vocation coherently with the educational path undertaken. The program also offers the possibility of accessing the Double Degree agreement with SciencesPo Lille, a cornerstone of a strategy to consolidate the internationalization of the program.
