Educational Objectives

The program aims to define a third level of education with a strong multidisciplinary approach, focusing on research in areas such as:


  • Electrical engineering, including renewable energy sources, electromagnetic disturbance risks, electrical machines, power electronics, electric vehicles, sustainable mobility, sensor technology, soft robotics, electromagnetic compatibility, and environmental impact.
  • Materials engineering for primary and secondary raw materials, development and application of advanced technologies for material recycling, promoting sustainable resource use and circular economy principles.
  • Materials engineering for industrial applications, technologies, and production processes in sectors like automotive, railway, construction, nautical, aerospace, and space, with a focus on eco-sustainable and circular processes.
  • Micro and nanotechnology for the development and characterization of new materials, devices, and multifunctional components for industrial applications.

Curriculum

The Ph.D. program is organized into three curricula:


  • Ingegneria Elettrica (Electrical Engineering)
  • Ingegneria dei Materiali e delle Materie Prime (Materials and Raw Materials Engineering)
  • Nanotecnologie (Nanotechnology)
