Program Overview
The program is a Ph.D. in Music and Performance, with the goal of training researchers in the field of performing arts. The program focuses on the analysis and interpretation of texts, objects, and discourses in various languages specific to the field, including theater, dance, cinema, photography, television, new digital media, and music.
Program Objectives
The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the performing arts, with a particular emphasis on the interaction between different languages and the artistic, cultural, social, political, and ideological contexts in which they operate. The program is divided into two curricula: "History and Analysis of Musical Cultures" and "Theater, Performance, Cinema, and Digital Technologies for Performance."
Program Structure
The program is designed to encourage interdisciplinary formation, with students from both curricula encouraged to participate in events and activities from both areas. The program also emphasizes the importance of methodological and theoretical dialogue between different sub-disciplines, as well as openness to other disciplinary areas, such as history, anthropology, and visual and literary studies.
Admission
The program has a limited number of places available, with 4 scholarships and 1 place without a scholarship. The admission process includes an oral exam and a evaluation of titles.
Curriculum

The program is part of the Department of History, Anthropology, Religions, Art, and Performance, and the School of Doctoral Studies in Sciences of Interpretation and Cultural Production.
