The Dottorato in Advances in Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Pathophysiology and Imaging offers advanced scientific training on the pathological mechanisms that affect the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. The program integrates basic research, clinical practice, and innovative diagnostic technologies. Through a multidisciplinary and international approach, the doctorate prepares highly specialized researchers capable of contributing to the development of new strategies for early diagnosis, prevention, and therapy of cardio-thoracic-vascular diseases, as well as in the oncological and gastroenterological fields, thanks to the study and application of advanced scintigraphy techniques (SPECT and PET).

• Identificazione, locazione e ruolo biologico di inibitori di proteasi nel sistema nervoso e cardiovascolare
• Sistemi recettoriali dopaminergici e colinergici nel sistema cardiovascolare
• Inibitori di proteasi plasmatici e tissutali a livello del sistema cardiovascolare
• Valutazione della vitalità miocardica e della transmuralità della necrosi dopo infarto miocardico mediante tecniche poliparametriche
• Valutazione del miocardio stunned ed ibernato
• Micobatteriosi polmonari ed extra-polmonari
• Recettori delle neurotrofine nelle arterie polmonari e nel fluido di lavaggio bronchiolo-alveolare nelle sarcoidosi

Additional Training

The program also includes updates on pathophysiology and imaging through seminars held by Italian and foreign experts, with the aim of providing a high-level global scientific training in the doctorate. Additionally, doctoral students are continuously supported and encouraged to participate in scientific events such as national and international conferences to broaden the scientific exchange in their field of interest.
