DOTTORATO IN INNOVAZIONE TRASLAZIONALE IN MEDICINA E CHIRURGIA
Program Overview
Dottorato in INNOVAZIONE TRASLAZIONALE IN MEDICINA E CHIRURGIA
The Dottorato di Ricerca in “Innovazione Traslazionale in Medicina e Chirurgia” aims to form researchers and professionals capable of integrating traditional clinical knowledge with the latest scientific technologies and methodologies. The program offers an interdisciplinary and highly innovative environment, where medical, surgical, radiological, and gastroenterological competencies converge with the support of cutting-edge tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and robotics.
Presentazione
The program focuses on the study of new minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly robotics, thanks to two autonomous Intuitive Xi units. These systems enable high-precision interventions in various fields, including oncological, endocrine-metabolic, thoracic, and gynecological surgery. The integration with AI and augmented reality opens up new perspectives, such as the development of interactive simulators for medical training and the creation of patentable innovations aimed at improving the safety and effectiveness of interventions.
Research Areas
- Chirurgia Mininvasiva: The program promotes a multidisciplinary approach to managing complex pathologies, such as neoplasms and endometriosis, offering specialists the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of advanced theoretical and practical concepts.
- Anatomia Patologica: Research in Anatomia Patologica focuses on molecular profiling of solid tumors and lymphoproliferative diseases, analysis of circulating nucleic acids (liquid biopsy), and development of cellular models such as organoids.
- Radiologia: The use of artificial intelligence in Radiologia improves the efficiency of workflows and the quality of diagnostic exams. Business Analytics systems (Radiology Command Center) enable real-time data analysis and optimization of departmental organization, while specific algorithms (AIR Recon DL and TrueFidelity) reduce acquisition times and radiation doses, maintaining high qualitative standards.
