Program Overview

Dottorato in MUSICA E SPETTACOLO

The Dottorato in MUSICA E SPETTACOLO is a doctoral program that aims to train researchers in the field of performing arts, specializing in the analysis and interpretation of texts, objects, and discourses in one or more specific languages of this field: theater, dance, cinema, photography, television, new digital media, and music. Particular attention is given to the interaction between these languages, as well as to the artistic, cultural, social, political, and ideological contexts in which they operate and contribute.

Presentazione

The program is divided into two curricula, denoted as "Storia e analisi delle culture musicali" and "Studi di teatro, arti performative, cinema e tecnologie per lo spettacolo digitale". Although the two curricula have partially different training paths, all doctoral students are encouraged to participate in the events of both curricula to promote an eminently interdisciplinary education. The methodological and theoretical dialogue between the various sub-disciplines of the doctoral program is fundamental, as well as the openness to additional disciplinary areas, such as history, anthropology, and historical-artistic, visual, and literary studies.
