Program Overview
School Psychologist Programme
The School Psychologist programme at Radboud University is designed for qualified psychologists or (ortho)pedagogues with a diagnosis certificate. The programme aims to train students to become school psychologists, enabling them to contribute to their school at all levels.
Programme Description
This two-year dual programme covers the full spectrum from individual (learning) problems to (co-)determining supra-school policy. The programme focuses on the entire education chain, from primary education to higher education, including secondary vocational education. Students will learn to deal with different levels of questions, ranging from prevention and signalling to treatment and referral.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must:
- Have completed a university degree in orthopaedagogy or developmental psychology
- Have a diagnostic endorsement (NIP or NVO)
- Work at least 24 hours a week (paid) in an educational or educational care institution
Programme Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to:
- Call themselves Child and Youth Psychologist NIP
- Register in the Child and Youth Register NIP and in the register of the Stichting Kwaliteitsregister Jeugd (SKJ)
- Supervise individual pupils directly, in terms of identification, diagnostics, advice, guidance, and (short-term) treatment
- Advise and guide teachers and school teams and initiate and implement supra-school care activities
- Influence the pedagogical climate at their school, introduce new learning methods, and draw up and implement a school-wide anti-bullying policy
Starting Date and Costs
The programme starts on 24 August 2026, and the costs are €22,252, VAT-free.

The programme is taught on-site, and the main language is Dutch.
Accreditation
The programme is accredited by the NIP, and students can register in the Register of Child and Youth Psychologists NIP after completing the programme.
