Program Overview

Overview

A creative arts degree immerses you in the creative industries and challenges you to think deeply and broadly about the changing world and the role the arts play within it.

Throughout the degree you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a leading creative professional in your chosen field.

In the final year of your degree, you will work on a major creative project with the goal of submitting it for professional publication, exhibition or presentation. Various artist and writer-in-residence programs take place throughout your degree and you will be encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities.

Music (major)

The Music major equips you to respond confidently to challenges in the world of contemporary music. You will develop creative, practical and technical skills in a dynamic and hands-on program that integrates studies in music theory, performance and composition.

You will benefit from state-of-the-art facilities and studios and learn how to make your mark with a creative edge. You will study alongside experts in their fields and work collaboratively with peers to explore themes in the creative industries that impact the changing musical landscape.

This major, combined with the Audio and Music Production minor, offers a deeper understanding of how music works, as well as the skills to develop as a creative practitioner and prepare for a career in the arts.
