Overview

The Bachelor of Mathematics (Applied Statistics) is a program designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge of a professional statistician. This includes logic, problem-solving, mathematical and statistical modeling, experimental design, and the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data.

Applied Statistics (Major)

The Applied Statistics major will equip students with strong computing and communication skills, and teach problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills that are in demand across government and private sectors. Students will study subjects including:

• Linear and generalized models
• Statistical inference sample surveys

Admissions Information

• Academic entry requirements: Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.
• English language requirements: The following level of English is required to gain admission to this program:
  • IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall, with no band less than 6.0
  • TOEFL (Internet-based): 70 overall, with no band less than 18
• Workload: As a full-time student, you can expect to commit around 48 hours of study per week.

Fees

• International course fees: $20,184 (2025) per session
• Additional fees: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
