Program Overview
Diploma of Science Fast Track (International)
The Diploma of Science Fast Track provides guaranteed* entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Marine Science at the University of Wollongong (UOW). You will gain the skills to succeed in your UOW bachelor and explore various concepts and skills in a variety of fundamental science disciplines. You will also graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree.
Overview
This course consists of two sessions, each lasting 14 weeks, and is offered by our pathway provider, UOW College Australia. See the course outline for more information. UOW College offers three intakes each year, giving you the flexibility to start your studies at different times throughout the year.

Pathways
Upon successful completion of this course, you will gain entry into the following UOW courses:
- Bachelor of Science - SMAH (all specialisations) - entry into second year (8 subjects, 48 credit points)
- Bachelor of Marine Science - entry into second year (8 subjects, 48 credit points)

Entry Requirements
- Academic Entry Requirements: Minimum ATAR 60 or equivalent
- Assumed knowledge and recommended study: Year 12 HSC Mathematics Advanced (any result) OR Year 12 HSC Mathematics Standard 2 ≥80%.
- English Language Requirements: Overall IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with 6.0 in Reading and Writing or equivalent.
Workload
As a guide, the workload for your course is determined by the number of subjects you take each session. Four subjects in a standard session is considered to be a full-time load and generally equivalent to working full-time e.g. 35-45 hours a week (including preparation, revision and assessment tasks undertaken in your own time, in addition to the scheduled classes you must attend).
