Program Overview
English for Academic Purposes
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) provides students with an opportunity to learn English language in context to prepare for university study. The course allows students to develop the foundations of English for higher level academic study.
Overview
The program involves three modules of study at the intermediate level. Students will have opportunities to acquire and practice language skills, such as writing explanations and argument essays and learning an academic language for spoken presentations. Lessons are designed around topical issues to encourage discussion and critical thinking. In addition, students will be encouraged to develop independent learning skills in preparation for higher academic study.
For each module, students will undertake 20 hours of tuition per week. Courses run from 6-48 weeks, depending on the entry level.
