The Department of Music offers a unique degree program in music education for those planning to teach music at the early/middle years or secondary levels. Students who complete the Bachelor of Music in Music Education program can then apply to the College of Education for the two-year Bachelor of Education – Sequential Music program. The completion of this professional B.Ed. degree qualifies candidates to receive a Saskatchewan teacher's certificate to teach any grade from preKindergarten to Grade 12.

Program Options
The Bachelor of Education - Sequential Music degree is offered by the College of Education, with two options:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) – Sequential Music - Early/Middle Years Program: Choose this if you want to teach students in preKindergarten through Grade 8.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) – Sequential Music - Secondary Program: Choose this if you want to teach students in Grades 9 through 12, with music as your Teaching Area 1 and a specialization in a Teaching Area 2.
Admission Requirements
To enter this program, you first need to complete the four-year Bachelor of Music in Music Education [B.Mus.(Mus.Ed.)]. For the Secondary option, you will also need a minimum average of 60% in your Teaching Area 2 classes. Once you've completed the B.Mus.(Mus.Ed.) program, you can apply to the College of Education for the Bachelor of Education - Sequential Music degree.
