The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree is a four-year program offered by the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business. The program provides students with specialized financial knowledge and the necessary management skills to be competent financial managers.

What You Will Learn

Finance students will understand the areas of finance theory, corporate, securities, risk, insurance, venture capital, planning, modeling, investments, and portfolio management. Trained to compete and succeed in the financial marketplace.

• COMM 203: Introduction to Finance: Deals with the functions of the financial manager, including the problems and techniques of financial decision-making.
• COMM 371: Applied Security Analysis: Gives students practical experience in the identification and selection of financial assets with an application to managing the funds held in the Investment Account of the Student Managed Portfolio Trust (SMPT).
• COMM 429: Personal Financial Planning: Deals with the advanced concepts related to personal financial strategies.

Program Options

Bachelor of Commerce

The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree is a four-year program offered by the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business. All undergraduate students admitted to the Edwards School of Business are required to complete a common first-year of studies. In January of your second year, you'll apply to a specialization in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management.

Co-op Option

Edwards Career Services, in the Edwards School of Business, provides career-related services to all our business students. The co-op option is an opportunity for third-year business students to participate in an eight-month paid work term and gain practical experience in their field of study.

Edwards students have an opportunity to pursue studies around the world. Taking university classes in another country will broaden your horizons, enrich your university experience, and open your employment opportunities globally.

Second Degree Programs

The University of Saskatchewan offers multiple second degree programs that allow you to earn two degrees in a shorter time frame than if you took each individually. Along with a Bachelor of Commerce, you could also earn a:
