Program Overview
Program Overview
The Master of Economics (MoE) program at Université Paris-Saclay is a competitive research program designed to prepare students for a career in academia and national and international institutions. The program is offered in English and is a gateway to highly selective PhD programs in economics worldwide.
Program Structure
The first year of the program (M1) is structured around 8 compulsory core courses that form the common ground on which the research specialization in the second year (M2) will be based, supplemented by two optional discovery courses and two research projects. The M2 is entirely optional, allowing students to build, under the supervision of faculty members, their own specific curricula adapted to their personal research agenda.
Skills and Objectives
The program aims to equip students with the fundamental techniques and concepts in economics, both theoretical and empirical, as well as critical thinking about the way to use them. Students will learn how to build and contextualize complex economic problems, create economic models, treat and analyze data, and communicate about the results. They will also develop their ability to conduct independent, original, and innovative scientific research in their research master's thesis.
