Program Overview

M2 Human Computer Interaction

The M2 Human Computer Interaction program at Université Paris-Saclay is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and techniques in human-computer interaction. This two-year program, taught entirely in English, is divided into four semesters, with the final semester dedicated to internships that can be completed in a public laboratory or industry.

Overview

The program focuses on the suitability of digital systems to user needs, a determining factor in the acceptability and success of digital products. With one of the largest human-computer interaction research departments in Europe, Université Paris-Saclay offers an ideal environment for students to explore interaction design and human-machine interaction.

Objectives

• The curriculum covers the fundamental aspects of interaction, emphasizing multidisciplinary aspects, user-centered design, and evaluation methods, as well as a wide range of forms of interaction.
• It addresses Human-Computer Interfaces in their various forms: graphical, hybrid, tangible, multimodal, multi-surface, tactile, mobile, etc.
• The program offers training in Virtual and Augmented Reality and its applications to video games, design, simulation, and training.

Skills

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to explain the fundamental concepts belonging to the field of man-machine interaction.

Career prospects for graduates include:

• Researcher or teacher-researcher after a Master's or Master's + Doctorate.
• Engineer (research and development, control, production) after a Master's or Master's + Doctorate.
• Data scientist, AI specialist, R&D engineer, project manager, consultant, data protection officer, information system manager, and more.

Public and Prerequisites

• The program is aimed at students with an M1 in computer science, specializing in human-machine interaction, including notions of human-machine interaction, programming of interactive systems, virtual or augmented reality, user-centered design, and evaluation methods of interactive systems.
• English level B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or higher is required. Proof of English language proficiency must be provided.

• Compulsory documents include copy of diplomas, motivation letter in English, all transcripts since the high school diploma, certificate of English level, and curriculum vitae in English.
• Additional supporting documents may include proof of a foreign language level, VAP file, and specific documents for refugees or those seeking asylum.
