The Training Course in Green Chemistry in Physics and Chemistry Teaching: A Pass Towards Sustainability is designed to empower physical-chemistry students to become environmentally conscious global citizens. The course aims to foster a deep understanding of Green Chemistry and sustainable development principles, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

General Objectives

The overall goal of this course is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to actively participate in sustainable development efforts, both locally and globally. The course focuses on promoting critical thinking, skills for solving problems, and inspiring a sense of responsibility to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.

Admission Requirements

• Secondary School students enrolled in the Science and Technology course, of any school grouping or non-grouped schools in the Alto Alentejo region.

Mode of Study

The course is offered in a face-to-face mode of study.

Teaching and Evaluation Language

The teaching and evaluation language for the course is Portuguese.

Examination Regulations, Assessment, and Grading

• The final grade is quantitative, on a scale of 0 to 20.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

The proposed course aims to enable students from the Alto Alentejo region to develop scientific literacy, understanding the contributions of physical chemistry to improving the quality of life of citizens, in conjunction with sustainable development perspectives. Students should also develop attitudinal skills that enable them to exercise responsible, participatory, and informed citizenship.
