The Bachelor's Degree in Classical Studies is a 1st cycle program that aims to provide students with a general education in the three major areas of the program: Greek and Latin languages, literature, and cultures. General Objectives of the Course
The program aims to provide students with a broad education in both Greek and Latin, allowing them to focus on specific areas in subsequent study cycles. Students should have a satisfactory understanding of the classical languages, including the ability to read original texts, evaluate literary and cultural content, and understand the roots of modern western culture.
Admission Requirements
- National Call for Access and Entry to Higher Education (DGES)
- Entry exam: 18 Portuguese or one of the following subjects: 06 Philosophy, 12 History of Culture and Arts, 11 History, 14 Latin, 15 Portuguese Literature, 17 Applied Mathematics Social Sciences
- Application score: 95 points (0-200 scale)
- Entry exams: 95 points (0-200 scale)
- Calculation Formula: Secondary school average: 50%, Entry exams: 50%

Examination Regulations, Assessment, and Grading
Assessment is a pedagogical activity that aims to establish students' competencies and knowledge. Students may only register for exams for classes they are currently registered for. Assessment items include:

- Individual and group projects that may require an oral defense
- Class participation Grading is based on a scale of 0 to 20, and a grade of 10 is required to pass.
