The proposed program aims to offer an interdisciplinary program of European Studies, with a focus on structural core themes in this field of study, particularly on the European integration process and international systems.
General Objectives of the Course
The curriculum introduces a set of classes that provide comprehensive and preliminary clinical knowledge, as well as the deepening of more specific content. Students will acquire solid skills in the area of European Studies, enabling them to communicate, recreate, and apply knowledge, and to think about problems holistically and exercise intellectual autonomy and critical thinking.

Examination Regulations, Assessment, and Grading
Assessment is a pedagogical activity that aims to establish students' competencies and knowledge. Students may only register for exams for classes they are currently registered for. Assessment factors include:
- Oral or written exams
- Written or practical work
- Individual and group projects that may require an oral defense
- Class participation Grading is based on a scale of 0 to 20, and a grade of 10 is required to pass.
Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
The program prepares students to think of Europe as a historical and cultural process, providing tools for preliminary knowledge and a framework for theoretical reflection. Students will acquire skills in:
- General European history and cultural sources
- Historical process of European integration
- Territory and population, crises and conflicts, relations, international and organic systems
- Economics and political science
- Theory and political philosophy, ideas of Europe
- Practical knowledge associated with different areas of European construction

Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulation of the University of Coimbra.

Graduation Requirements
Achievement of the passing grade in a set of curricular units that amount to a total of 180 ECTS.
