The Annual Course of Portuguese Language and Culture for Foreigners - Pre-intermediate (B1) is designed for international students seeking to enhance their knowledge of the Portuguese language, linguistics, literature, and culture. This course is structured according to the proficiency levels outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (QERCL).
General Objectives
The primary objective of this course is to improve students' communicative competence in Portuguese, focusing on level B1 descriptors of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Admission Requirements
- The minimum age for course attendance is 16 years.
- No specific academic training is required for candidates.
- In the absence of verification documents, candidates' Portuguese language proficiency will be determined through a placement test.
Mode of Study
The course is offered in a Full-Time Regime, with face-to-face and daytime classes.
Teaching and Evaluation Language
The language used for teaching and evaluation is Portuguese.
Examination Regulations, Assessment, and Grading
- The final grade is expressed on a scale of 0-20, calculated as the weighted arithmetic mean of the results obtained in the course classes, according to their credits.
- Assessment in each curricular unit is periodic or final, with the final assessment conducted in a single exam (normal).
