About the Programme

All of which occurs within an international environment and is underpinned with a sustainable orientation.

While Studying

First Year

During the first year, focus is on developing advanced theoretical knowledge and frontline management expertise.

  • In the first semester, you study a series of modules starting with setting a strategic foundation; then focusing on human interaction in organizational context; next, developing project management skills; and concluding with applying the semester’s knowledge in a real-life consultancy project.
  • On the Master's Programme in Management, you will often work in groups to solve business cases. For example, on the fourth module of the first semester, you will work in close collaboration with local organizations. You will carry out analysis of, and develop a strategic development programme, on behalf of these organizations and present their results to them. Other corporate connections include guest lectures, thesis projects, and study visits.
  • In the second semester, you will be able to choose from a variety of elective courses in order to tailor the Master’s degree in the manner that you wish, for example with insight into corporate governance, innovation management, or new venture creation. There is also the option of an internship to attain further practical experience.

Second Year

During the second year, you are given the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in one other area in the field of business administration. The second year also includes a module on research methodology that will develop and deepen your ability to create and critically scrutinize scientific knowledge. Moreover, the module on current trends in business administration research will keep you up to date on recent developments in your field of expertise. During this year, it is also possible to study abroad for one semester.

  • Finally, you will develop your writing, analytical, and research skills through writing a master's thesis, where you get to specialize in the topic of your choice.

We integrate competencies in our programmes. In our programmes and courses, we focus on competencies that are needed for your future professional life.

  • Internship: You have the opportunity to do an internship for ten weeks in Sweden or abroad. This possibility is only available at a few business schools in the country. The internship gives you a good opportunity to put theoretical knowledge and experience into practice and show off your skills to potential employers. You will arrange your internship yourself in a company you find interesting. This way, you are able to find an internship position that meets your expectations and provides more opportunities for you to use the internship as an entry to the labour market.
  • Studies abroad: Studying abroad is not only fun and challenging for you as a student but also a welcomed experience with future employers. Internationalization is an important area for us, and we are working continuously to offer you as a student many opportunities for an adventure in Europe or further away on another continent. In our programmes, you therefore have the opportunity for studies abroad for a semester or two.
  • Sustainability perspective: Sustainability gets a whole lot bigger attention in today's firms and organizations, and we lifted these questions up early in our educational programmes. Together with our students, we are working for a more sustainable business school and to revise the courses to improve the education about, and for, sustainable development at the program. Our work on sustainability takes as a starting point the 17 sustainable development goals and Agenda 2030.
