Overview

The Neurobiology program at Umeå University provides students with extended knowledge about the organization and function of the nervous system. The program explores the nervous system at molecular, cellular, systems, and behavioral levels, covering aspects such as basic neuroanatomy, nerve cell specialization and function, neural circuit formation, and sensory systems.

Eligibility

• Students must also have 60 ECTS from finished courses in Biology, containing Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, and Physiology.
• Practical experience of laboratory work corresponding to a minimum of 5 ECTS is also required.

Selection

• Selection is based on academic credits.
• The application deadline was 15 April 2025, but a second application round is available for EU/EEA/Swiss citizens.

• As a citizen of a country outside the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), or Switzerland, students are required to pay application and tuition fees.
• The application fee is SEK 900.
• The tuition fee for the first installment is SEK 19,038.
• The total fee is SEK 19,038.
