The Scientific Computing program is a 7.5-credit course offered at Umeå University.

Program Description

• The program is available in two formats: on-campus and web-based (online).
• The on-campus program is offered at a half-speed study pace, with daytime teaching hours, and is conducted in English.
• The web-based program is also offered at a half-speed study pace, with mandatory meetings and other online sessions via Zoom.

Eligibility and Selection

• Eligibility criteria include at least 15 ECTS in differential and integral calculus, 7.5 ECTS in linear algebra, and 7.5 ECTS in programming.
• Selection is based on academic credits for the on-campus program and Platsgaranti for the web-based program.

• Tuition fee, first instalment: SEK 19,038
• Total fee: SEK 19,038

Program Structure

• The program starts on November 3, 2025, and ends on January 18, 2026.
• The program consists of recorded lectures, Q&A sessions, problem-solving sessions, and assignments submitted electronically.
• A written exam is conducted in halls and can be done remotely at a learning center or similar.
