Program Overview

Artificial Intelligence Studies

Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science

The Artificial Intelligence Studies program is designed to prepare AI specialists with technical competencies at a global level. The program focuses on modern and innovative methods related to machine learning and advanced neural networks.

Programme Description

The goal of the Artificial Intelligence Studies is to educate AI specialists—programmers specializing in modern and innovative methods related to machine learning and advanced neural networks. The courses will present the current global state of knowledge in this discipline. Specifically, during the studies, students will learn programming in Python, building neural networks in the PyTorch environment, and processing images and natural language using deep neural networks.

Curriculum Overview

The programme curriculum includes information about the subjects attended during the studies, which are scheduled for each semester, and which are mandatory or elective. Each subject has its syllabus, describing what students learn within the scope of that subject.

Student Life

Time spent at the university is not all about education and class participation; it is also an excellent opportunity to develop hobbies and interests. Many research societies and student organizations work at the Jagiellonian University, including faculty- and university-wide ones.

Admission to Studies

Admission to study programmes at the Jagiellonian University is conducted electronically in the Online Application System. Detailed information about admission to this study programme, including the method of calculating the result, qualification criteria, fees, deadlines, and a list of required documents, are available on the Online Application System.

Graduates

A graduate of the Artificial Intelligence Studies is capable of:

  • Designing, creating, and validating artificial intelligence models
  • Administering medium-sized computer systems
  • Effectively using computer tools
  • Proficiently programming and having a foundation in computer science, enabling the adaptation of knowledge in the rapidly changing field of information technology

Further Education Possibilities

  • Doctoral School, e.g., Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences
  • Post-diploma programmes
  • Second-cycle programmes

Offer for School

The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science offers events such as Jagiellonian Olympic Workshops, individual tutoring for high school students, and workshops for teachers and high school students. The Jagiellonian Library offers tours of both the old and new parts of the building. The offer of the Collegium Maius includes lessons on "The Trail of Science" and "The Trail of History and Art," as well as interactive online classes.
