Introduction to the Biotechnology Program
The Biotechnology program at Jagiellonian University is a multidisciplinary field of human activity based on biological sciences and engineering sciences. It is often cited as the science that will dominate the 21st century, with high hopes attached to it for feeding the growing population, developing drugs, inventing environmentally friendly methods of obtaining energy, and creating effective methods of removing pollutants.

Biotechnology is a combination of nature inventions, human ingenuity, and the possibilities of technology. Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Biotechnology
The Faculty is Poland's best research and didactic unit, conducting research focused on the processes taking place at the cellular, molecular, and atomic levels in plants, animals, and microorganisms. The Faculty cooperates with several dozen centers in Poland and worldwide and carries out research projects with companies from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
