Program Description

The Eurasian Studies program is offered by the Chair of Eurasian Area Studies, which is part of the Faculty of International and Political Studies. Curriculum Overview

The program curriculum provides information about the subjects attended while studying this program. The curriculum indicates which subjects are scheduled for each semester of the studies, which are mandatory, which belong to the group of elective subjects, which end with an exam, and which do not. Each subject in the program curriculum has its syllabus, which is a description of what students learn within the scope of that subject.

Student Life

Time spent at the university is not all about education and class participation; it is also an excellent opportunity to develop hobbies and interests. Many research societies and student organizations operate at the Jagiellonian University, including faculty- and university-wide ones. These societies allow students to spend their free time actively, gain knowledge, develop their talents, participate in engaging, unconventional projects, go on research and team-building trips, participate in conferences, and meet fellow students outside the lecture halls.

Admission to Studies

Admission to study programs at the Jagiellonian University is conducted electronically in the Online Application System. Detailed information about admission to this study program, including information on the method of calculating the result, qualification criteria, fees, deadlines, and a list of required documents, are available on the Online Application System.

Graduates

Graduates of the Eurasian Studies program can find employment in the following areas of professional activity: NGOs, cultural institutions, journalism, administration, local government, diplomacy, consulting, tourism, companies trading with the eastern market, and international shipping. Graduates of the first-cycle studies have knowledge about the specificity of life in the former Soviet republics, the cultural, social, and political diversity of the Eurasia region, and sympathy and antagonisms in this region.
