Introduction to the Medicine Program

The Medicine program at Jagiellonian University is a long-cycle, full-time study program that leads to the professional title of Lekarz (equivalent of Medical Doctor). The program is taught in Polish and has a general academic profile. It lasts for 6 years (12 semesters) and is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in medical sciences.

Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine is a thriving, modern, and most significant unit of the Jagiellonian University – Collegium Medicum, boasting excellent research and teaching staff. The high level of education at the faculty has been confirmed by awarding the scientific category A in the classification of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the prestigious status of the National Scientific Leading Center KNOW in a scientific consortium with the Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków. The oldest medical Faculty of the Jagiellonian University offers three fields of study: medicine, medicine and dentistry, and dietetics, for many years, these fields of studies conducted at the faculty lead in rankings prepared by the Education Foundation “Perspektywy” and talented students win the prestigious Diamond Grant program. The Faculty also provides education within the Medical School for Foreigners of the Faculty of Medicine, Jagiellonian University Medical College, which offers two medical study programs in which teaching is conducted only in English.
