Program Overview
Performance Studies
Faculty of Polish Studies
The Performance Studies program is a research-based field that explores various representations and their culturally changing frames. It is a field of multiple possibilities, aiming to capture the dynamics and variability of individual and collective experiences in their various manifestations.
Programme Description
The program operates in two ways: on the one hand, it constantly renews theatrical and dramatological knowledge, confronting it with the latest achievements of practitioners and methodological proposals; on the other hand, it tries to apply this knowledge to the study of extra-theatrical phenomena, from collective acts (public ceremonies, games, holidays, rituals) through individual experiences, to relationships between human and inhuman.
An essential part of the study program is workshops, during which participants, under the supervision of specialists, work on the implementation of independently proposed projects of a curatorial, artistic, scientific, or translation nature.
