Accountancy Program
The Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy (PGDipAcc) provides students with technical, theoretical, and practical knowledge to succeed in the corporate arena and the SAICA Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC) Board Exam.

This diploma is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the field of accountancy.
Curriculum
The curriculum includes the following courses:
- Financial Accounting IV
- Taxation IV
- Auditing IV
- Management Accounting and Finance IV
- All four courses must be passed in the same academic year
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the PGDipAcc, students must meet the following requirements:
- Wits University students who have successfully graduated with a BAccSci (Bachelor of Accounting Science) and have passed Financial Accounting III, Auditing III, Management Accounting and Finance III, and Taxation III in the same academic year, preceding their application.
- Graduates from other universities with a SAICA accredited degree from a SAICA accredited university, who have met the entrance requirements of their home universities for the CTA equivalent year.
- Students from other SAICA accredited universities must have passed all four of the Big 4 subjects (Financial Accounting III, Management Accounting and Finance III, Taxation III, and Auditing III) at a third-year level in the year preceding entry into the Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy.
- In addition, students from other SAICA accredited universities who have not completed their undergraduate degree at Wits University are required to have achieved an average of 65% in these (Big 4) four subjects with no subject less than 60%.

University Application Process
Applications are handled centrally by the Student Enrolment Centre (SEnC). Once the application is complete, it will be referred to the relevant School for assessment.
- Applicants can monitor the progress of their applications.
- Selections for programmes that have a limited intake but attract a large number of applications may only finalize the application at the end of the application cycle.
- Meeting the entry requirements does not guarantee a place. Final selection is made subject to the availability of places, academic results, and other entry requirements where applicable.

Graduates of the Wits Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy (PGDipAcc) and the Bachelor of Accounting Science Honours (BAccScHons) are eligible to receive additional credits to complete their tax articles with the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT). SAIT is the leading professional body for tax practitioners in South Africa.
