Program Overview

The Computer Science BSc program at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) aims to train computer scientists with a professional knowledge based on a solid theoretical background. The program provides students with a broad education in computer science and software engineering, combined with specialized work in computer and information processing techniques, programming languages, data structures, information retrieval, operating systems, and compiler design.

Computer scientists are welcome in every sector of informatics. Jobs are offered by large international computer companies, outstanding Hungarian firms, banks, large enterprises, state institutions, software development companies, research institutes, and universities. Graduates may be engaged in the preparation of integrated data processing systems, electronic trade transactions, and electronic money transfers, solving telecommunication problems, performing image recognition, computer-aided design, image processing, or preparing multimedia applications.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to have sufficiently good grades in their secondary school finishing documents, especially in mathematics. Intermediate level of English knowledge is also required.

Application Procedure

The application starts on the online application system. Students need to register in the system, fill in the online application form, upload the required documents, and follow the instructions during the application process.

Payment of Application Fee

The application fee can be paid through the official payment platform of ELTE. It is essential to fill in the correct comment ("CS BSc, E10104/18") when making the payment.

Entrance Examination

The applications are examined by the Admission Board, and applicants are notified of the outcome of the selection in the online application system. If an applicant's documents and grades are acceptable, they may be asked to participate in an online interview to ensure they can speak and understand English at an intermediate level.
