Description

The program is taught by 20 qualified instructors and three francophone lectors from the Department of French Language and Literature, which is the oldest French department in Hungary with over 235 years of research and teaching experience. The program provides students with a multidisciplinary training composed of language classes, literary studies from the Middle Ages to the present time, and courses in French civilization.


The aim of this course is to train high-level specialists capable of meeting the specific demands of the labor market in the fields of cultural and intercultural exchange. The training will also prepare students to continue in one of the Doctoral Schools of the Faculty.

Admission Requirements

  • Entry requirements: Applicants must hold a university bachelor's degree (or an equivalent college degree) in the fields listed below. Full credit acknowledgement is only given for a Bachelor's degree in Romance Philology, Specialized in French Studies or French as a Foreign Language Teacher qualification.
  • Language requirements: C1-level French (CEFR/CECRL)
  • Accepted language certificates: DALF, DHEF
  • English language requirement: A2 level of English is recommended for administrative purposes

  • Procedure of the application: The application starts in the online application system. Students need to register in the system, fill in the online application form, upload the required documents, and follow the instructions during the application process.
  • Entrance examination and selection process: The entrance exam contains a discussion about the motivation of the applicant. Successful applicants must have a good command of English to pass the entrance exam. The format of the entrance exam is an online interview. Ranking is based on the overall evaluation of academic excellence and the results of the entrance exam.
