Modules

The course consists of several modules, including:

  • Critical Contexts: This module introduces students to key ideas and theories that can help them understand theoretical and conceptual approaches to literary texts.
  • Literature and Social Justice: This module explores how texts from within and beyond the Western tradition can register and problematize commitments to changing their political and social contexts.
  • Research Methods: Traditional and Digital: This module teaches students key approaches to English literary research and how to plan and carry out rigorous research using a variety of traditional and modern tools and approaches.
  • MA English Literature Dissertation: This module provides students with the opportunity to produce an extended piece of research on a topic of their own choosing related to English literature.
