Program Overview

The University of Birmingham Dubai offers a rigorous BSc Accounting and Finance programme, designed to help students develop expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making. This 3-year programme includes core modules, employability events, and advanced courses to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for managerial success in accounting and finance.

Course Delivery

• Structured Learning: Engage in 30 hours of weekly contact time, supplemented by self-guided study tailored to the degree program and specific module requirements.

Module Information

The modules described are the ones currently offered and will give students a good idea of the range of subjects taught. However, as undergraduate teaching is research-led and constantly reviewed, there may be changes to module titles and content.

Year 1

The following must be taken:

• Academic Skills A | 10 credits
• Critical Thinking A | 10 credits
• Decision Making and Control | 20 credits
• Financial Accounting and Accountability | 20 credits
• Principles of Economics and Finance | 20 credits
• Widening Accounting Horizons | 20 credits Students for BSc Accounting and Finance, without A-Level Mathematics or equivalent, MUST choose Numeracy, Statistical Analysis & Financial Literacy A. Students with A-Level Mathematics or equivalent MUST choose the module Numeracy, Statistical Analysis & Financial Literacy B.
• Numeracy, Statistical Analysis and Financial Literacy (A) | 20 credits
• Numeracy, Statistical Analysis and Financial Literacy (B) | 20 credits

Entry Requirements

• Typical offer: AAA-ABB
• UK: 3 A Levels. Typical offer AAA-ABB. GCSE Mathematics at grade 6/B required. General Studies not accepted as one of three A2s, but a good performance may be taken into account if you fail to meet the conditions of the offer and have General Studies as a fourth A2.
• International Baccalaureate Diploma: 6,6,5 at Higher Level with a minimum of 32 points overall and SL/HL Mathematics at 5.
• English language requirements: In order to undertake a programme of study, students will need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.

Fees and Scholarships

• The University tuition fee covers the cost of tuition, examination, and graduation.
• Fees information: AED 141,842 per year (full-time) for the September 2026 intake.
