Program Overview
The MSc Civil Engineering and Management program at the University of Birmingham is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering and management principles. Course Structure
The program consists of a total of 180 credits, with 120 credits from taught modules and 60 credits from a research project. The taught element of the course takes place between September and May, and the individual research project is undertaken from May to September.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this program, applicants must have a 2:2 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant non-engineering subject. Industrial experience and CEng/IEng qualifications will also be taken into account. International students must demonstrate a suitable level of English proficiency, usually through the form of an IELTS or equivalent qualification.
English Language Requirements
The English language requirements for this program are:
- IELTS: 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band
- TOEFL: 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 Listening, 22 Speaking, and 21 in Writing
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): Academic 67 with no less than 64 in all four skills
- Cambridge English: C1 Advanced - minimum overall score of 176, with no less than 169 in any component
- LanguageCert ESOL SELT (UKVI): B2 'Communicator' with no less than 33 in each skill
Fees and Scholarships
The tuition fees for this program are:
- £11,250 (full-time)
- £5,625 (part-time) The University offers a range of scholarships, including the Birmingham Masters Scholarship, which awards £3,000 to more than 300 students each year.

Graduates will be one step closer to being accredited Chartered Engineer (CEng) upon graduating.
