Program Overview


Genomic Medicine MSc / PGDip / PGCert

The Genomic Medicine MSc / PGDip / PGCert programme at the University of Birmingham provides a multi-disciplinary perspective on the applications of genomics in clinical practice and medical research. Course Overview

The programme offers full-time and part-time studies with Postgraduate Masters, Diploma, and Certificate options. Course Structure

The programme consists of 120 credits of taught material plus a 60-credit research project or a 30-credit literature-based dissertation combined with 30 credits of additional taught modules. Students will learn from world-leading academics and researchers at a top 100 UK university.

Entry Requirements

To gain a place at Birmingham, students will need to meet the general entry requirements, as well as those specific to the course. The typical entry requirement is a 2:1 Honours degree in Biomedical Science, Genetics, Medicine, or a related subject.


English Language Requirements

International students will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English proficiency, usually through the form of an IELTS or equivalent qualification.


Fees and Scholarships

The University tuition fee covers the cost of tuition, supervision, assessment, and includes membership to the Guild of Students. The fees for 2026 entry are:

The University offers a range of scholarships, including the Birmingham Masters Scholarships, which award £3,000 to more than 300 students each year.
