Program Overview

The Mechanical Engineering with Industrial Year MEng program at the University of Birmingham is designed to equip students with the skills to solve real-world challenges and become Chartered Engineers. The program is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and provides students with a comprehensive education in mechanical engineering, including a year of industrial experience.

Course Structure

Entry Requirements

• A Level: AAA to include A-level Mathematics
• IB: 6,6,6 at Higher Level (including Mathematics) with 32 points overall
• BTEC: Considered on a case-by-case basis, with a focus on sufficient mathematics content

Fees and Scholarships

• Tuition fee: £9,535 per year for domestic (UK) students for 2026/27
• Scholarships and financial support available for eligible students
