MPA Finance MPA

The MPA in Public Administration (Finance) at the University of Birmingham is designed to equip students with crucial leadership and strategic skills, empowering them to drive impactful reforms in global public sectors. Course Structure

First Term

• Students study two foundational 20-credit modules:
  • Public sector economists' skills in analysing current economic issues using real-world data and advanced analytical techniques.
  • Applied research in public policy and management, emphasizing evidence-based decision-making and ethical research practices.
• Students also choose a combination of optional modules to gather a total of 60 credits from the list of International Development modules.

• Students must undertake a 60-credit dissertation to complete the programme and graduate with 180 credits.

Entry Requirements

• A 2:1 Honours Degree is required, with work experience or professional qualifications taken into account.
• International students must demonstrate a suitable level of English proficiency, usually through IELTS or equivalent qualification.

English Language Requirements

• IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band is required.
• Equivalent qualifications, such as TOEFL, Pearson Test of English, or Cambridge English, are also accepted.

Fees and Scholarships

• The tuition fee for the 2026 entry is £13,500 for full-time students and £6,750 for part-time students.
• The University offers a range of scholarships, including the Birmingham Masters Scholarship, which awards £3,000 to over 300 students each year.
