Module Overview

This module aims to give you a systemic understanding and critical awareness of the interaction between mental and occupational health. The module cross links from modules The Effect of Work on Health and Fitness and Occupational Ergonomics. The module will enable you to evaluate current research, the role of the occupational health specialist and legislative requirements. The module includes:


  • The influence of psychosocial and other factors on the mental health of workers
  • Organisationally and individually based approaches to assessment and intervention
  • Selection and management issues relating to workers with mental health problems
