Introduction to Special Education
The University of Fribourg offers a minor study program in Special Education, which enables students to familiarize themselves with the foundations of special education without making it their main discipline at the bachelor level. This program consists of two parts: an introduction to the theoretical foundations of special education and an introduction to the theories of development.
Profile of the Study Programme
The goal of the bachelor program in Special Education is to familiarize students with the foundations of special education. This familiarization has two parts:
- Introduction to the theoretical foundations of special education, including courses in general special education and differential special education.
- Introduction to theories of development, including courses that enable students to acquire a basic knowledge of the factors, mechanisms, and conditions that influence individual typical and atypical development.
Learning Outcomes and Career Openings
This study program enables students to broaden their knowledge and interests with an introduction to the foundations and basic issues of special education.
