The Bachelor of Sport and Human Performance is a three-year degree that provides students with a foundation in the sport and leisure industry. The program is offered in Hamilton and Tauranga, in conjunction with Toi Ohomai.

The Bachelor of Sport and Human Performance is designed to equip students with the latest knowledge and skills to excel in the dynamic sport and leisure industry. The program spans the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, fostering collaborative relationships with top organizations and facilities. Students will have the opportunity to connect with industry and community partners, including the Chiefs, BOP Magic, Cycling NZ, Sport Waikato, Sport Bay of Plenty, Enabling Good Lives, K'aute Pasifika, and Paralympics NZ.

Program Structure
The program consists of three years of full-time study, with a total of 360 points. Students will complete a range of papers, including:
- HELTH102: Drugs in Sport and Society
- HELTH120: Navigating Hauora in Aotearoa
- One paper from 100 Level List A
- One elective paper
In the second year, students will complete:
- HELTH220: Facilitating Hauora in Aotearoa and the Pacific
- One paper from 200 or 300 Level Field of Degree
- One elective paper
In the third year, students will complete:
- One of: HELTH381, HELTH382, HELTH391, or WAIKT363
- Two elective papers
Entry Requirements
There are five ways to gain admission to the University of Waikato:
