Master of Educational Management

The Master of Educational Management (MEdM) is a 180-point part-time masters programme designed for people who are looking to enter into, or progress within, a career in leadership and management in the education sector. This qualification will deepen your understanding of transformative change, business strategy, financial analysis, and managing people within an educational institution.

Why Study the Master of Educational Management?

Meeting the complex demands of the education and training sector in New Zealand, and globally, requires educational leaders, trustees, policy advisors, and senior administrators who can confidently make sound leadership and management decisions. This programme is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to initiate and manage positive change, recognise ethical issues and responsibilities in the education context, and use research-led knowledge to advance professional practice and student learning.

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to the Master of Educational Management, applicants must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised university, with at least a B-minus grade average in the 300 Level papers and some relevant work experience. If you do not have a bachelor's degree, you may still be eligible for admission if you can demonstrate substantial relevant work experience and evidence of success in academic study.
