Master of Teaching and Learning
The Master of Teaching and Learning is a teaching qualification that leads to becoming a registered teacher in New Zealand. This programme provides valuable practical experience with the professional support of Te Kura Toi Tangata School of Education lecturers and Mentor Teachers, including 80 days in the classroom across two different schools. Papers examine teaching in the New Zealand context, evidence-based inquiry, teaching diverse learners, and curriculum design and implementation.

Entry Requirements
- Domestic students must hold a Bachelor's Degree at level 7 on the NZ Qualifications Framework or a recognised equivalent with a B+ average.
- Teacher Education applications open from 1 July every year, with an interview and selection process based on academic background, communication skills, personal qualities, background experiences, and a literacy and numeracy assessment.

Candidates for the secondary endorsement must have sufficient depth and breadth of relevant subject or curriculum knowledge at Levels 5-7. Learning areas include Agribusiness, Arts, English, Health and Physical Education, Learning and Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, and Technology.
