The Te Ara Poutama Toitū Te Reo program is designed to produce graduates who are proficient in the Māori language and capable of teaching in Māori language settings. The program focuses on the development of Māori language and culture, as well as the skills and knowledge required to teach in Māori language contexts.
Program Structure
The program consists of three years of full-time study, with a total of 360 points. The program is divided into three years, with each year building on the previous one.
Year 1
In the first year, students take a range of papers that introduce them to the Māori language, culture, and education. These papers include:
